TABLE VIEW – Robbers, one of them armed with what looked like an AK-47 assault rifle, used explosives to blow open the back of an armoured truck at the Stables shopping centre, in Dunoon, on Thursday October 26, at 10am according to Tabletalk.

The robbers pulled up in a white Mercedes Benz, forced the guards out of the truck, blew the back door and grabbed the cash, said Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler.

They diched the Mercedes – later found to have been stolen in Kuils River -0 and sped off in a silver Jeep without license plates and a red Volvo.

The Jeep was found abandoned not far from the scene.

No one was injured and no shots were fired. The hawks are investigating.
