CAPE TOWN – The Belgian actor’s 21-year-old son Nicholas Van Varenberg received a visit from police officers in Tempe, Arizona on Sunday (10Sep17) after they were called to check on him because he punched an elevator in his building and left a trail of blood leading back to his apartment, according to TMZ.com.
The cops had a chat with Nicholas and his unnamed roommate and discovered he had injured his hand and subsequently left. However, shortly afterwards, the roommate ran downstairs, claiming that Nicholas had been holding him at knifepoint but he managed to escape. He alleged that Nicholas was angry at him for opening the door to the police.
The officers returned to the apartment and conducted a search, where they allegedly found the knife and marijuana, and they subsequently arrested Nicholas for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful imprisonment, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. TMZ have obtained a copy of his mug shot.
Nicholas is the Bloodsport star’s only son with ex-wife Darcy LaPier. Van Damme also has adult children Kristopher and Bianca with Gladys Portugues, who he was first married to from 1987 to 1992. They remarried in 1999, and she filed for divorce for a second time in 2015. However, they have since reconciled and called off the divorce.
