CAPE TOWN – A Milnerton police boss has urged the public to report dirty cops.
According to Tabletalk, Major General Aneeqah Jordaan told Monday night’s cluster meeting at the Milnerton police station that the police would not hesitate to investigate charges of corruption levelled against fellow officers.
“Since I have been Major General, we have taken down six members of our SAPS team because of them being ‘skollies’ (rouges), said the cluster commander.
“Unfortunately, this happens and we need to root out the bad apples. We need the help of the people to help us find them though. If you see members of SAPS doing something illegal, let us know and we will look into it.”
She also cautioned neighbourhood watch members not to take unnecessary risks.
Also at the meeting, the police identified crime hot spots in the Milnerton cluster. Dunoon, followed closely by Joe Slovo, was a problem area for murder, attempted murders and rape, while break-ins and car thefts plagued Blaauwberg Road Table View the report said.
