CAPE TOWN BUSINESSMAN & WIFE BEHIND BARS FOR DEFRAUDING NEDBANK OF UP TO R23M

CAPE TOWN – A Cape Town businessman has been sentenced to eight years in prison for defrauding Nedbank of R23-million. Wessel Germishuys and his wife, Marianne, faced 188 counts of fraud.

The couple, through their business Zanco Engineering,defrauded the bank’s Debtor Management Division by submitting fraudulent invoices.

Marianne, who was the financial manager of the business, was sentenced to three years correctional supervision with strict conditions.
