UPDATE: BODY OF 1 OF MISSING 8 FISHERMEN FOUND NEAR PE

CAPE TOWN – The body of one of the fishermen who went missing at sea near St Francis Bay has been found.

The man identified as Mbongeni Gift Zulu was one of 16 crew members aboard a Chokka boat when it capsized on Sunday.

One person was killed, eight fishermen disappeared in the water while seven were rescued. A search has been ongoing since.

The police’s Majola Nkohli says a vessel sailing near Blue Horizon Bay in Port Elizabeth found a body floating in the sea.

“And later brought the body to the port of St Francis Bay. The body was later identified to be that of Mbongeni Gift Zulu a 43-year-old from Jeffrey’s Bay. Zulu was also one of the missing fishermen.”

Seven other fishermen are still missing.
