FAKE GUN USED IN DUNOON ARMED ROBBERY AS SUSPECTS ARRESTED

CAPE TOWN –   A suspected robber armed with a fake gun was arrested in Usassaza street in Dunoon, near Milnerton. This according to Constable Debbie Alard,  spokesperson for Milnerton Police cluster.

According to the complainant in the case, he and some friends returning from a tavern where they had purchased liquor. While walking home they were followed by four unknown men. Alard says.

One of the suspects had firearm and the rest were armed with knives. “One of the suspects hit the complainant in the face with a firearm and took his bottle of whiskey,” Alard says. The group of robbers then fled on foot. A police vehicle on patrol chased the suspects, and the suspect with the firearm was arrested.

Further investigations revealed that the suspect’s firearm was fake.

The 25-year-old suspect appeared in Cape Town court on charges of armed robbery.
