CAPE TOWN – Family of an Elsies River girl, Courtney Pieters, have visited the site where her body was found.
The three-year-old’s body was discovered in a shallow grave in Epping on Saturday.
A large crowd has gathered and community members are laying down flowers in memory of the young girl.
A section of a road in Bofors Circle has been cordoned off to regulate entry to the site where the girl’s body was found.
A mother from neighbouring Bishop Lavis made her way here to support the family.
“I thought what about my children? What if it happened to my children one day? So I thought today I am standing here to give my prayer to those parents that they must be strong.”
The family has requested residents not be allowed access to the crime scene.
No arrests have been made.
