CENTURY CITY: GLOBAL CHAIN BUYS CAPE TOWN HOTEL
CAPE TOWN – Hospitality group Marriott has bought the African Pride Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa in Century City.
Marriott already has Protea Hotels in its South African portfolio.
The announcement it had acquired the 180-room Crystal Towers comes at a time when there are major concerns about South Africa’s economy af
Marriott International’s vice-president for Middle East and Africa, Volker Heiden, said South Africa had become a destination of choice for travellers from across the globe.
The country has been ranked among the top 25 tourist destinations in the world and Cape Town is regularly recognised as a city that should be on everyone’s “bucket list”.
“Cape Town’s tourism industry has enormous potential and it is our mission to help enable the realisation of this potential by leading with our flagship brands,” Heiden said.
Among the features Marriott offers is an app which enables guests to use mobile check-in.
