ExpressCapetown can confirm authoritatively that music artist Justin Bieber’s concert in Cape Town on May 17 has forced Cape Town City to move their home game against Golden Arrows to Athlone Stadium.
The game between City and Arrows was originally scheduled to take place at the Cape Town Stadium, with kick off at 19h30, but due to the music concert which overlaps the date and time, the Citizens have been forced to look for an alternative venue to host Abafana Besithende as the race for the league title hots up.
City spokesperson Julian Bailey has confirmed that their game against Arrows has been moved to Athlone Stadium.
“We had the option to try to push it [the game against Arrows] to another date but we decided to keep the same date. We will only move to play the game at Athlone Stadium on the same date,” Bailey tells KickOff.com.
Cape Town City are currently amidst a fierce battle for the Absa Premiership title, with the Citizens currently third in the table but just two points adrift of leaders Bidvest Wits, but having played a game more, leaving City with just four matches left this season.
