CAPE TOWN – Three people have died in shack fires in Cape Town.

The blaze broke out in the informal settlement of Kosovo near Philippi in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service’s Theo Layne says the cause of the blaze is still undermined.

“The city’s Fire and Rescue Service’s extinguished an informal structural fire in Kosovo Informal Settlement at about 4.45am on Saturday morning. The only structure that was involved was completely destroyed. Three people suffered fatal burns.”
