CAPE TOWN – A trial date has been set down for the two men who’re accused of the murder of a Kuils River mother Zarah Hector.
Hector’s body was found in the bushes in the Groot Drakenstein area several days after she went missing in March last year.
Tafweeq Ebrahim and Ronaldo van Rooyen were arrested in connection with her murder shortly after.
The Zara Hector murder trial will begin in the Western Cape High Court on 7 August.
The two accused will remain in custody until then.
They face charges of, among others, murder and defeating the ends of justice.
Both the State and defence told the court the matter is ready for trial.
Family and friends of Hector, who were present in court, wore pink T-shirts, calling for justice for the 33-year-old mother of two.
They also hugged the prosecutor after hearing news that the case will now go on trial.
